Wet Tropics World Heritage Vital Corridor Buy Back Scheme

The Kuranda Region is under threat from rampant residential development.  The historically zoned RURAL land parcels are starting to change hands from private to developers as, unfortunately, they’re the ones with the $$!

In 2016, are historically zoned ‘Private Land’ sales still appropriate in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area?

*The Kuranda Region Planning Group is looking for other community members to engage in this activity.

We have material from the Daintree Buyback Scheme experience to read through – see list right.

Most of this project will require online participation only.

Please contact us with your expressions of interest.

Daintree Vision 2030 – to buy back all remaining threatened rainforest properties in the Daintree

There are 180 Daintree properties that Rainforest Rescue needs to buy back. We want to see all of these protected by the year 2030.

Check our progress here on the Daintree Properties Saved So Far.
