To Mr Phillip Rowland,

Manager EIS of Dept of Environment and Heritage Protection.

Dear Phillip,

I spoke to you last Friday week (30/2[1]/17) in regard to the correct details to connect with the Threatened Species Commitee, within your department.

I requested from you a name to write to and email and details to send information to in regard to the KUR World Project in Kuranda, Qld. 4881.

I was also interested in any State and Federal Bi- Lateral agreements, between your department and the EPBC, in regard to the project, as there are endangered species listed on the Federal list, that fall within the geographical area of the project site.

The Kur World Project does not currently comply with the Mareeba Shire Council’s 2009-31 Regional Planning Scheme and no approvals or permits have come from Council to approve the massive clearing and dam building that has occurred since mid last year on the Barnwell Rd site.

I was wondering if and what State Government approvals have been given and would like to know what permits have been issued, in regard to this development, and whether there is compliance with the EPBC.

Could you please provide me with those materials and the details for the Threatened Species Committee, as requested.

The area is zoned within an environmental corridor, so I am interested if you could provide me with that information as soon as you are able, before any further work is done.

Thank you for your assistance

kind regards,

Seanne McArthur,
