Tanique Brim was born in Cairns 1992 and her language name is Girra;Girra.

A young woman from the Buluwandji tribe, Tanique grew up in her traditional country in Kuranda where she learnt from a very young age how to create with art and learnt to paint from family first, then school and Tafe.

Tanique has an ancient cultural style with a modern unique twist.

Being an Aboriginal woman is important to Tanique, knowing her culture is the oldest in the world, her ancestors the first fire lighters, first hunters, first  gatherers, first farmers, first speakers, first musicians & artists and first bush doctors.

Tanique’s work includes canvas, outdoor murals and textiles (T-Shirt design). Due to high demand and a busy schedule as a mum, Tanique has produced her first poster.

Tanique feels the responsibility as First Nation Peoples to keep knowledge and stories alive through music, arts & culture, like her ancestors did over the past fifty thousand years, at least.
